Throughout DCI you will see blue hyperlinks, the hyperlinks open pages such as entries, item or page details. When clicking the hyperlink it will navigate you to a new page, leaving the page you are on.

To the open the hyperlink in a new internet tab or window:

  1. Navigate to the page with the hyperlink
  2. Right click the hyperlink
  3. Select either Open link in new tab or Open link in new window
    1. Open link in new tab - opens a separate tab on your current internet browser you are viewing
    2. Open link in new window - opens a new internet browser

*Please note: This action can be helpful when you have used search filters to drill down and see the exact data you are searching for and want to view specific entry. If you select the entry, your your search results will be lost. By opening the entry in a new internet tab or window, this will allow the search results to be viewable and for you to refer back to them and select any other entry as necessary.

At DCI we are always striving to make tasks as efficient as possible for the organizations using our software. We know our search filters help organizations drill down to find the exact data they are searching for and we want to ensure that information is as user friendly as possible. The DCI team would hate to see users setting up extravagant search filter criteria to view multiple entries and their associated details pages and lose that list as soon as a specific entry ID is selected.

A tried and true method for maintaining your search results while still being able to view the details pages for all entries without interruption is to right click on the blue hyperlinked ID number and select ‘Open link in new tab’. Users can complete this task for as many ID numbers as they would like and still refer back to the original URL to view the search results.
